人は、「の」で生きている。

A transparent “no”
seemed to appear.

Rain wets everything,
and at the same time, divides.

Human beings live
within the “no.”

Of wires, of roofs, of trees, of umbrellas—

君は　素晴らしいね

収入は
お世辞にも多いとは言えず

日記には
長いあいだ
自分の病のことが
静かに書きとめられている

会ったこともない誰かへ
思いを馳せることもある

詩は
無心に作っているらしいね

あるとも
ないとも言えない
そのあわいで

有無を超えて
どこまでも広がる
無量無辺につながりながら
詩を作っている

その詩は
いま
確かに
人の心に届いている

権勢を誇った人が
いまは憔悴している

君は
その人にも
そっと寄り添っていた ー　

苦しいとき
真価が問われる

「君は　なに主義？」
「わたしは　幸福主義。
周りの人と
共に幸福に――
そんな国にしたい
そんな社会を築きたい」

才能だけの畜生は
どうしても好きになれない

慈愛の旋律を
ひとつでも奏でられたら
それで
世界は少し変わるのにね

The Rebuilding Heart

(Originally written on November 6, 2012 and later revised)

You are
truly remarkable.

Your income
is hardly enough
to be called generous.

In your diary,
for so long,
you have quietly written
about your illness—
page after page.

And sometimes
your thoughts drift
toward someone
you have never even met.

I hear
you write your poems
with an unburdened mind.

In the space
where things may exist
or may not—
in that fragile interval—
you create poems
that rise beyond
presence and absence,
and connect
to a vast, boundless
measureless expanse.

And those poems
are now
undeniably
reaching people’s hearts.

A person
who once reveled
in power
is now
worn down.

And you—
you quietly stood
beside them, too.

When life becomes painful,
that is when
true worth is tested.

“What’s your creed?”
“I believe in happiness.
Happiness shared
with the people around me—
that is the nation
I want to see,
the society
I want to build.”

The talented
yet heartless—
I can never come
to like them.

If only
they could play
even a single note
of compassion,
the world
might shift—
even slightly.

To go on living—
what does it mean?

この詩に込めた思い

この詩を書いたのは、深い孤独と苦痛のただ中だった。
それでも、人を思う心だけは失われずにあった。
病に伏していても、収入が少なくても――
人を想うことをやめなかった記憶がある。

有るとも言えず、無いとも言えず、
無心に湧き上がる不可思議な思い。
その祈りにも似た詩が、
もしも絶望の淵にいた誰かに届いたなら、
これほど嬉しいことはない。
これほど幸せなことはない。

この詩は、
人間を信じ抜こうとした
記録にもなったかもしれない。

Thoughts Behind the Poem

I wrote this poem in the midst of deep loneliness
and great pain.
Even then, the heart that reaches out to others
did not disappear.
Though I was ill
and had little income,
I remember never stopping myself
from thinking of others.

Neither fully present
nor absent,
a strange, unbidden feeling
kept rising within me—
almost like a prayer.
If this poem, born from that place,
were to reach someone standing
at the edge of despair,
there would be no greater joy,
no greater happiness.

Perhaps this poem became,
in its own quiet way,
a record of my attempt
to keep believing in human beings.

揺るぎない　強き信を
貫くことの難しさ
根底では信と不信の相克がある
しからば
信が立てば
胸底から　
無量無辺の感謝が溢れだす

森羅万象に　浸透するか
大宇宙をも　包み込むか

すべての他者も　
過去も　現在も　未来も

未来への一歩を踏み出した
ゆえにこの先は
一度たりとも
疑ったことがない
一度たりとも
逃げたことがない
一度たりとも
幸福でなかった日はない
一度たりとも
裏切ったことはない
と信を固くして進むのだ

人生最後の日にも叫ぶ
不思議なる信　私そのもの

いま
足下の泉を掘っている

この泉は―
自分には価値があることへの信と
それに純粋無垢な感謝によって
湧いてくる

The Wondrous Faith

To uphold an unshakable, steadfast faith
is a task of profound difficulty.
At the root of all things
lies the struggle between belief and disbelief.

Yet when faith rises,
gratitude bursts forth
from the depths of the chest—
boundless and immeasurable.

Does it permeate all phenomena?
Does it embrace the vast universe itself?

All others,
past, present, and future—
all are held within its reach.

Once a single step is taken toward the future,
the path after that becomes clear:
not once
has doubt been allowed;
not once
has there been retreat;
not once
has there been a day without happiness;
not once
has there been betrayal.
Thus, faith is made firm,
and the journey continues.

On the final day of life, I will still cry out:
This wondrous faith—
it is none other than myself.

Now,
I am digging a spring beneath my feet.

This spring—
it rises
from the faith that I have worth,
and from the pure, innocent gratitude
that accompanies it.

This poem explores the profound depth contained in the word “faith.”
To believe is never simple;
beneath it lies a constant struggle
between trust and doubt.

Yet when faith stands firm,
an immeasurable gratitude rises from within,
as if it permeates all existence
and expands to embrace the universe.

It speaks of a person who steps into the future
with unwavering conviction—
one who has never retreated,
never doubted,
never ceased to be happy,
never betrayed themselves.

At life’s end, the final cry is clear:
“This wondrous faith—this is me.”

心を無視して
生きることはできない

美しいものだけではない
醜さも
卑しさも
同じ深さにある

見なかったことにしたくなる
心は
追いついてくる

惨めな自分を
抱きしめることが
できるだろうか

小さな一歩
自分を信じようとした
痕跡

痛みに耐えきれず
逃げたくなる
閉じこもりたくなる

閉ざされた場所では
幸福は
芽吹かない

心は大地
雨に打たれ
泥に沈み
その奥でしか
根は
伸びていかない

怒りも
嫉妬も
孤独も
生き延びるための力

その不思議さを
知ったとき
人は
自分を
信じはじめ
他者にも
手を差し出す

強さとは
痛みを消すことではない
痛みの意味を
探しながら
生きているという事実が
胸の奥に
静かに残ること

その感覚は
どこへ
行くのだろうか

醜さを知り

We cannot live
by ignoring the heart

The heart is not
only what is beautiful
ugliness
meanness
exist
at the same depth

We want to pretend
we did not see
yet the heart
catches up

Can we
embrace
the wretched self

A small step
a trace of trying
to trust oneself

Unable to bear the pain
wanting to run
wanting to shut everything out

In a closed place
happiness
does not sprout

The heart is the earth
beaten by rain
sinking into mud
only there
do roots
grow

Anger
jealousy
loneliness
are forces
that keep us alive

When we learn
this strange truth
we begin
to trust ourselves
and reach out
to others

Strength is not
erasing pain
but searching for its meaning
while the fact of being alive
quietly remains
deep in the chest

Where does
that feeling
go

Knowing ugliness
knowing meanness
the heart that still
tries to believe

in the deepest place
of being human
continues
to support us
to the end

This poem does not aim to regulate the heart or promote optimism.
It simply faces the fact that humans cannot live carrying only what is beautiful.
Ugliness and meanness are also part of the heart, and there is no way to escape them.

Emotions such as anger, jealousy, and loneliness are often rejected, yet they have functioned as forces for survival.
The more we try to eliminate them, the more the heart closes.
In closed places, happiness cannot grow — this idea is expressed through the image of the earth.

Strength here is not the removal of pain.
It is the state in which the fact of being alive remains quietly within us, even while we continue to search for the meaning of pain.
The poem offers this question without forcing an answer.

薔薇の心

薔薇の心まで感じる人はいません
薔薇は見つめています
不思議に思えるかもしれません
薔薇が人の悲しみを感じることを

ある日
ひとりの子どもが
薔薇の前で立ち止まり
子どもは涙を流していました
声を殺して泣いています
薔薇はその子どもを見つめました
この子どもの心と一体となりました

薔薇は香りを届けました
その子どもは
目を輝かせるようになりました
香りには
祈りが込められていました
薔薇は
この子どもの味方でいようとおもいました

ほかの花や木々
鳥や雲や太陽も
静かに見守っていました
すべてがその子どもの味方になりました
その子どもは元気を取り戻し
薔薇の心を感じるようになりました
薔薇だけでなく、
その時に見守ってくれたすべてのものの
心も感じるようになりました

その子どもは
人の悲しみに寄り添える大人へと
成長していきました
薔薇はひそかに喜んでいました

私は今
１２年前に哲学の道沿いに咲いていた
薔薇との出会いを思い出し
この詩を書いています
あの時
薔薇が私の心を見つめていたことを
今でも鮮明に覚えています
その薔薇は
私の悲しみをすべて受け入れて
ただ静かに私を見守ってくれました

私は心の中で泣いていました
薔薇が優しい香りを届けてくれ
何も言わずにただ見つめてくれた
その優しさが
少しずつ私の悲しみを和らげてくれました
「元気を出して」と言われたようでした
心が軽くなりました

🌹 Where the Rose Listens

No one truly feels
the heart of the rose.
Yet the rose gazes quietly,
as if it could sense
the sorrow within a human heart.

One day,
a child stood before a rose
and began to cry —
silently, trembling.
The rose watched,
and their hearts became one.

The rose sent out its fragrance,
a soft prayer in the wind.
The child’s eyes
began to shine again.
The rose thought,
I will be this child’s friend.

The flowers,
the trees,
the birds,
the clouds,
and even the sun—
all watched in stillness.
They became the child’s friends, too.

And the child grew,
able to feel
the hearts of roses,
and of everything
that once watched over them.

Now,
I remember a rose
along the Philosopher’s Path,
twelve years ago.
That rose
looked into my heart
and accepted my sorrow
without a word.

Its fragrance
softly healed me—
as if whispering,
Be strong.
My heart grew lighter.

I said,
“Thank you, my rose.”
And I have never forgotten.

Twelve years ago, I met a single rose
along the Philosopher’s Path.
It spoke no words,
yet accepted my sorrow
and stayed beside me
through its fragrance alone.

There is a kind of tenderness
that words can never reach.
When I was wrapped
in the quiet gaze of that rose,
something deep within me
gently unraveled.

The child in this poem
is who I once was,
and also everyone
who has ever carried sorrow.
When I touch another’s pain,
I wish to stand beside them—
like the rose,
silent, and full of light.

けがれなきその人　

世界は広いのか
それとも狭いのか
その人は
皆から
ひそかに「けがれなき人」と呼ばれていた

その人は
誰かと話すとき
相手の気持ちをよく考えていた

相手が自分を見失わないように
言葉を選んでいた

欲望にとらわれていたら
憎しみを抱えていたら
黒い雲を追い払うように
言葉をかけた
光の道を歩む人が
増えていった

その人は
あらゆる人と接する中で
特別な理由はなく
素直に言葉を使っていた

世界は広いのか
それとも狭いのか
その人は
皆から
ひそかに「けがれなき人」と呼ばれていた

自制心とは何だろう
人には感情がある
欲望がある
それらは
意図せずとも湧いてくる

その人は
いつも穏やかな顔をしていた

享楽に溺れることもなく

The Unstained One

Is the world wide—
or narrow?
They called that person,
in quiet whispers,
“the unstained one.”

When speaking with someone,
that person always considered
the other’s heart.

They chose their words carefully,
so the listener would not lose themselves.

If someone was trapped by desire,
or burdened with hatred,
they spoke as if to drive away
the dark clouds above—
and more people
began to walk the path of light.

That person,
in every encounter,
used words simply and sincerely—
for no special reason at all.

Is the world wide—
or narrow?
They called that person,
in quiet whispers,
“the unstained one.”

What is self-control?
Humans have feelings.
They have desires.
Even unbidden,
those things arise.

Yet that person
always wore a calm face.
People looked upon them
and felt peace—
felt healed.

There was restraint in them,
not a trace of indulgence,
not a shadow of greed.
They seemed
as free as the wind itself.

The unstained one—
was human.
Not special.

この詩を書こうと思ったのは、
日常の中にある“静かな強さ”を見つめたかったから。

けがれなき人とは、
完璧な人でも、聖人でもない。
怒りや欲望を持ちながらも、
それに支配されず、他者の気持ちを思いやる人。

その姿は目立たないけれど、
誰かの心をやさしく照らしている。
そんな人がこの世界を支えている気がする。

I wrote this poem
to capture the quiet strength
that lives in ordinary days.

The “unstained one”
is not perfect, nor a saint.
They feel anger and desire too—
but they are not ruled by them.
They think of others,
and speak with gentleness.

Such a person rarely stands out,
yet their presence softly lights the hearts around them.
I believe people like that
quietly hold this world together.

This poem is a small tribute to them,
and to the pure light
that exists within every human being.

昨夜　暗雲が空を覆い尽くしていた
まるで奇跡　いま
太陽の光が
地上のすべてを包み込むように照らしている

ひときわ際立つまぶしい存在
目をしばし凝らして見ると
あなたの美しい笑顔が光を放っていた

気づいたのかもしれない
大空のように広がりゆく無限を
閉ざされた扉を自らの手で開いたあなた

野鳥の群れ
風が心地よくなにもかもが
響き合っている

人は悩み苦しみ
涙を流す

信じるべきは何か

Last night,
dark clouds covered the sky entirely.

the light of the sun

As I focus my eyes for a moment,

the infinity expanding like the open sky.
You opened the closed door
with your own hands.

A flock of wild birds.
The wind feels gentle,

People suffer,
worry,
and shed tears.

What should we believe in?
Stepping firmly on the ground,
we move forward.

Your smile,
like a goddess herself,
illuminates even suffering—

A cold, freezing winter night.

The two of us shared one cheesecake,
eating it with a single fork,
sitting on a park bench.

You leaned against my shoulder,
and I leaned
into your sorrow.

Snow fell quietly.
