#poem
#poemblog

Thoughts Behind the Poem

At the heart of this poem
is the quiet power
that transforms pain into affirmation—
not by erasing it,
but by letting it evolve.

Every person carries wounds.
Sometimes they weigh heavily,
sometimes they fall into silence
and become shadows inside us.
Yet the ability to turn those wounds
into a form of value
belongs only to human beings,
and no one can take it away.

What I sought to depict here
was not the cleansing of pain,
but the moment
when pain becomes a medal—
a force that allows someone
to choose their future again.

The image of light
reaching the bottom of deep water
symbolizes this truth:
no matter how far one has sunk,
affirmation still arrives.

And above all,
before the world affirms you,
you must affirm yourself.
When those two recognitions overlap,
a new time begins to move.

That conviction
is the root of this poem.

A future that should have taken
a different shape—
feelings that should have lived
in another color.
Such regrets and afterglow
soften under the moon’s light.

Books resting deep inside the shelf
become companions beyond time,
supporting the loneliness
brought by loss.

The “four colors of memory”
are the shades of emotion themselves:
white as absence,
black as shadow,
red as passion,
blue as cold clarity.
Blended together,
they flow slowly—
like the Kamogawa
carrying the past downstream.

The lover is no longer here.
But the moon, the river,
and the quiet friends on the shelf
remain close
to the deepest part
of the heart.

#poem
#ManyoPoem
#JapanesePoetry
#poemblog

Thoughts Behind the Poem

At the heart of this poem lies the inherited afflictions
that human beings have carried across vast stretches of time—
and the will that rises, even under the weight of that burden.

The light and shadow submerged in the abyss of the past,
and the shadow and light slowly emerging
on the horizon of the future—
these are not oppositions,
but strata of history layered within a single human being.

Suffering rarely arrives alone.
When the past, present, and future press into the chest all at once,
pain reverberates in overlapping layers,
and even one’s outline begins to tremble.
Yet if that condensation is faced directly,
its origin proves not to be external
but something that has long dwelled within.

This is why seizing “the moment” becomes decisive.
What does the chest choose?
What does the gut decide?
A misstep sinks one into the past;
a true grasp opens the future.
The authority lies entirely within oneself—
it cannot be taken away.

The image of mounting the white horse
serves as the emblem of resolve.
As the wind hums
and the light loosens its white mane,
a single human being begins
a new stride into morning—
a moment of inner dawn rendered in quiet clarity.

The Shakespearean Script

The script—
it is far too sacred
to be treated lightly,
far too intimate
to let another hand compose.

It is you who writes it.
Write as your heart inclines,
even if the ending
has already whispered itself
into fate’s ledger.

Shadowed turns of fortune,
scenes that bid you fall back—
set them upon the page.
For the script quietly yearns
for the moment
when the impossible turns in its sleep
and becomes possible.

Preconceptions,
the tidy logic of yesterday—
let them slip away.
Release the idols,
scatter the accidents,
and the world begins—softly—
to rewrite its own borders.

“To be happy because one is grateful”—
that single line
has begun to glimmer
in the margin of your script,
like a small dawn.

Any storyline
that casts misfortune upon another—
draw a gentle line through it.
Rewrite,
and rewrite again,
as many times as your soul requires.

The one who performs this tale
is none but you—
the lone, luminous figure
on the vast stage of your life.

Hold the script against your chest.
Rehearse it quietly
in the chambers of your heart,
until the curtain, at last,
begins to rise.

#poem
＃shakespearean
#poemblog

Thoughts Behind the Poem

Life is not a script written by another.
It is a stage given to you
to write—and to perform—on your own.

Do not erase misfortune or trials.
Let them breathe within the story.
For it is in the moment
when the impossible turns itself over
that the true drama of life begins.
To use even fate as material,
to shape your own stage from it—
there lies the strength and quiet wisdom of being human.

The line “You’re happy because you are grateful”
carries a conviction:
happiness is not something granted from outside.
Its very cause is inscribed
within the act of gratitude itself.

This poem speaks as a gentle call.
You are the playwright,
and you are the actor.
Write the script of your life with your own hands,
and perform it with dignity.
That is what it means
to live as your true self.

Thoughts Behind the Poem

The human heart is made to connect,
yet fear and desire often create separation instead.
“Construction and Demolition” reflects this contradiction—
the cycle of collapse and rebirth that every person carries.

Because we have looked into the depth of despair,
we choose hope not as illusion, but as necessity.
To ignore the suffering of another
is to allow cynicism to take root within oneself.

Poetry is the struggle to express what resists expression.
Left unspoken, it sinks into the chest
and never escapes the swamp of the heart.

This poem is carved from that tension—
the ceaseless rhythm of breaking and rebuilding
that moves a human life toward truth.

Thoughts Behind the Poem

The poem begins with resistance—
a refusal to be swept into the fever of the crowd.
I grew weary of matching voices; silence felt more truthful.
Within conformity, the self slowly fades,
yet only from that distance does a faint light appear.

The line “Milk-white clouds—beautiful” captures
a brief moment of purity amid the confusion of living.
The final image, “to grasp the horizon,”
embodies the stubborn impulse to keep reaching.
It is a record of one who stands apart,
still breathing, still alive, within the noise of others.

Famous Rain

Light seeps deep into the earth.
The sleepers are called awake.

Wiping sweat, I drain the soda,
gazing at the tower’s tip.

A rainbow of three thousand colors
arches above the houses.
From the soil, black fragments—fists of metal—
rise to the tower’s peak and begin to dance.

I think of what came first,
perhaps not a thing but the act itself.

Turning around on one-legged steps,
I find the other foot walking.
A miracle, I think,
and wait until it arrives.

“The road has been long,
and will remain so,”
the earth replies.
No traffic lights, no signs, no lamps—
just the road.

(Famous Rain) paints the land
mercilessly in black.
The sun truly vanished.

(Famous Rain) falls like arrows—
where illusion and reality cross.
(Famous Rain) has no sound.

Thoughts Behind the Poem

This poem depicts the quiet reconstruction of the world.
Light sinks, sleep awakens, and only action remains as proof of existence.
“Famous Rain” is not an event, but an inner turning point.

The one-legged traveler finds the other foot—
and realizes that to act is to live.
The rain without sound is neither ruin nor grief,
but a silence that embraces all things.

Within that stillness, true reality begins to appear.
It is a revelation born after loss,
a sacred moment when the world begins again—
wordless, yet unmistakably alive.

A storm is coming.
Lead-colored clouds move like a dragon.
Its scales flash with eerie light.

When the storm arrives,
the leaves of the park trees
will be blown away,
leaving only trunks and branches.

Am I one of those leaves?
I must endure—
so that I will not become one of them.
The dragon stares,
what a terrifying face it wears.

#poem
#poemblog

Thoughts Behind the Poem

This poem uses the storm as a mirror for the mind’s own turmoil.
The dragon is both an external threat and a symbol of inner fear—
the force that strips away what is fragile.

When the wind rises,
the self trembles like a leaf.
The question, “Am I one of those leaves?”
marks the beginning of awareness,
the moment when resistance is born.

To remain standing,
one must face the dragon’s gaze—
the embodiment of fear itself.
In the heart of the storm,
the core of being is revealed.
