渡月橋の夜
人影いずこへか
大堰川の声色
七色に聞こゆる
幾千幾万の人の夢
真実の夢
平安の都にこそありしか
否　幻なるか
澄める月の美しさ
今宵の迷い　打ち払う
限りある生の歌を謳う

Night at Togetsukyo Bridge

Written on November 29, 2015

Night falls on Togetsu Bridge.
No trace of human shadow.
The Ōi River speaks
in seven shifting colors.

Thousands upon thousands of dreams—
true dreams—
were they once rooted
in the capital of Heian?
Or were they only phantoms?

The moon, clear and absolute,
sweeps away tonight’s hesitation.
I sing the song
of this finite life.

この詩に込めた思い

この詩を書いたとき、京都の夜の静けさが胸の奥まで届いていた。
観光地としての渡月橋ではない。
千年の間人々の夢を受け止めてきた場所として向き合った。
人の姿が消えたとき、橋と川と月だけが残り、
その三つが不意に「人生そのもの」に重なった。
川の七色の声は、私の心の揺らぎでもあり、
過去に生きた無数の人々の願いの残響でもある。
月に迷いを払われた瞬間、
ようやく「限りある生」を真正面から受け入れ、
歌うという行為は祈りに近いものだった。

Thoughts Behind the Poem

When I wrote this poem, the silence of Kyoto’s night cut deeply into me.
I faced Togetsu Bridge not as a tourist spot, but as a place that had carried centuries of human dreams.
Once the crowds disappeared, only the bridge, the river, and the moon remained—and the three quietly aligned with the shape of my own life.

The river’s “seven-colored voice” mirrored the trembling of my heart, and also the lingering wishes of countless people who lived before me.
When the moon swept away my hesitation, I finally accepted the finiteness of life.
To “sing” in such a moment felt close to prayer, a vow to live despite the transience of existence.

白鳥の羽根

悪魔の仕業
鉛色の空　雷鳴　
走る　閃光
地面を砕く雨

病める人の悲しさ
貧しき人の悲しさ
孤独な人の悲しさ

私の幸せになるこの権利
白鳥の羽根を
あなたに差し上げます
幸せになるのです
羽根はひとつだけなのです
私は構いません
あなたはきっと幸せになるのですよ

Swan’s Feather

The devil’s work—
a sky of lead,
thunder breaking open,
lightning running wild,
rain that shatters the ground.

The sorrow of the sick,
the sorrow of the poor,
the sorrow of the lonely.

My right to be happy—
I give it to you
as a swan’s pure feather.
You must become happy.
There is only one feather,
and I do not mind.
You, surely,
will find happiness.
